Challenges and opportunities for the circular economy in Canada

The construction, civil and infrastructure sectors are increasingly vital to the Canadian economy.

 In the past decade, the industry's expansion—fueled by urbanization, population growth and government investment in infrastructure—has added over 7 percent to the national GDP in 2023 while providing jobs for more than 1.5 million people nationwide.

 

However, Canada's built environment sector is under growing pressure to embrace sustainability and circular economy principles to ensure long-term resilience. This didn't quite make sense to me, suggestion to replace with: Construction firms must navigate challenges by adopting innovative solutions to meet climate targets.
