AHRI is an organization promoting quality and safety within the North American HVAC industry. It is one of the largest trade associations in North America, representing more than 300 manu-facturers within the global HVAC industry. 

AHRI members account for more than 90 percent of the residential and commercial air conditioning, space heating, water heating and commercial refrigeration equipment manufactured and sold in North America. It runs around eighty different certification programs whereof AHRI 400 for liquid-to-liquid heat exchangers is one.

The Canadian Registration Number (CRN) is a reference issued by each province or territory of Canada to the design of a boiler, pressure vessel or fitting. The CRN identifies the design has been accepted and registered for use in that province or territory.

Both Canada and the United States use the ASME Section VIII-1 code for pressure vessel construction but Canada has a CSA B51 standard is a more restrictive definition of what a PRESSURE VESSEL is. Canada also registers FITTINGS – items that in other countries would be considered too small to need registering. Likewise we also register many PIPING SYSTEMS in Canada. All vessels, fittings and piping systems need to be built under appropriate quality control programs.
