Natural gas firms ramping up for LNG Canada face drought conditions
According to a recent report by Deloitte Canada, drought conditions in Western Canada have posed challenges for natural gas producers supplying the LNG Canada terminal project.
The report also highlights the strain on oil and gas development in areas linked to LNG Canada due to water scarcity.
Alberta's Environment Minister described the situation as a "serious" one, with low water levels and dry conditions. As a result, the oil and gas industry may face restrictions on water diversion for operations. The report suggests contingency plans and using alternative water sources to mitigate risks.
