Canadian Government Invests Over $3.3 Million in Gazifère for Clean Fuels Project

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Jonathan Wilkinson,  and Steven MacKinnon, MP for Gatineau have announced an investment of over $3.3 million in Gazifère Inc. for a clean fuels project, totaling over $7.3 million.

The investment aims to support a hydrogen blending feasibility study while evaluating the potential for the development of a water electrolysis facility to introduce low-carbon hydrogen into its gas distribution network across the Outaouais region. This provides the possible opportunity to reduce emissions by over 18,000 tonnes annually.

 

Gazifère also plans to pursue additional emissions reductions through waste-heat recovery. This initiative is expected to foster growth in Canada's clean fuels market, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change while enhancing energy security and affordability.
