Big expansion for Enwave's Toronto deep lake water cooling system
During the hottest summer days, downtown Toronto benefits from the deep lake water cooling system, which uses heat transfer technology to cool 180 buildings in the core.
Recently, an additional 3 km expansion of the intake pipe was commissioned.
The fourth line "gives us more capacity to be able to expand our system where density counts," says Enwave's CEO Carlyle Coutinho.
Currently, the DLWC system extends north to Queen's Park, west to The Well and eastward to the East Bayfront. The expansion stretches the system's reach outside the downtown core to the north, east and west.
