A new approach to environmental, social and governance policies is needed

There is an increasing need for further transparency and accountability in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices among corporations and governments, particularly in response to the growing climate crisis.

McGill University’s CIBC Office of Sustainable Finance recently hosted academics and experts from 11 countries to confront the issues of ESG, climate change governance and democratic politics.

 

From transparency and accountability to preventing greenwashing, to long-term sustainability policies, this article investigates how ESG practices can be evolved.
