All about fluid handling - Alfa Laval opens Application & Innovation Center

Experience the fluid handling of tomorrow today: Alfa Laval has opened an Application & Innovation Center for fluid handling technologies at its Kolding, Denmark location. The company is thus strengthening its position as a global supplier to the food and pharmaceutical industries, which represent important growth areas.

Alfa Laval accelerated product development of hygienic fluid handling technologies through an Application & Innovation Center. In the new test center with an area of ​​1,600 m², food and pharmaceutical manufacturers can process their own products under real operating conditions with the Alfa Laval systems before they make investments.

 

For example, based on the current process conditions, it is examined what effects different pump types and pump operation have on product quality. In order to optimize valves, the experts examine how the seal structure, valve size or certain technologies affect the cleanability, performance and maintenance of a processing line.

 

More efficient cleaning processes increase availability and minimize the consumption of water and chemicals. Alfa Laval's complete tank cleaning equipment is available for test runs in accordance with customer-specific cleaning-in-place procedures. With a wide range of mixing technologies for scaling up to 20 m³, it is possible to work close to the real processes, which prevents deviations during scale-up.
