Town of Hantsport N.S. to Upgrade Water and Sewer Systems

The Town of Hantsport in Nova Scotia is upgrading its water and sewer system with support from the federal and provincial governments.

"...The Town of Hantsport is upgrading over 500 metres of drinking water distribution mains and storm watermains along Main Street South and Prince Street. These upgrades will ensure residents have greater access to high quality drinking water, with increased water flow and supply.

 

The Government of Canada is investing over $554,000 in this project through the Green Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada infrastructure plan. The Government of Nova Scotia is contributing $462,000, with the Municipality of the District of West Hants providing the remainder of project costs.

 

This project will ensure high quality, potable water and adequate water to fight fires, and will separate sanitary sewer and storm water collection systems which will reduce stress on the sewage treatment facilities and reduce greenhouse gases…”
