..Funding recently approved for the Sapperton Combined Sewer Separation project, one of the 144 projects recently announced by the provincial and federal governments. The contribution from the CWWF will help ensure the city is  protecting our environment and local waterways.

The Sapperton project will reduce the discharge of combined sewer overflows into the Fraser River by diverting significant amounts of stormwater from combined sewers during rainfall events and providing improved stormwater drainage that meets regional and federal requirements. The City of New Westminster is committed to separate 1.5 per cent of its combined sewers annually and to reach zero combined sewer overflows by 2075...
